Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician based in Guildford to service and repair vehicles at customer locations. The role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Saturday, with occasional Saturdays and optional overtime options.

You will diagnose complex issues, perform routine maintenance, and communicate recommendations to customers, with a focus on safety and quality. A UK driving licence and relevant qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair (or higher).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) at customer locations.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues and keep records.

£55,625 (inclusive of LWA) OTE: Up to £62,000

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role:

Home based, working 40 hours per week, across 5 days (Monday to Saturday) 8am 8PM, working 1 in 4 Saturdays.

1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional more flexibility, more reward.

Job Responsibilities for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role:

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) customer selected location e.g. driveway, office car park.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations.
• Payment handling through card transactions.
• Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
• Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used.

What youll need to be considered for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role:

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.

• Must have a full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans
