Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mobile Vehicle Technician to service a leading commercial fleet around Chelmsford. You will diagnose, service, and repair a range of light commercial vehicles on-site and in the workshop.

The role offers a competitive salary up to £40,000 DOE plus overtime at 1.25x, Monday to Friday, no weekends, plus pension, private GP access, and a structured training path to Master Technician.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• Experience on light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and/or heavy goods vehicles (HGVs).
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Full UK, Irish or EU Manual Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out diagnostics, servicing, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of light commercial vehicles.
• Work on leading brands including Mercedes, Ford and Iveco.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Attend customer sites as part of a mobile service operation while supporting workshop activities when required.
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
• Work collaboratively with the wider technical team to keep fleet downtime to a minimum.
