Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician to perform servicing and repairs at customer locations across Newbury. You will handle routine maintenance, diagnostics, and carry out repairs on EVs and conventional vehicles.

The role is full-time, permanent, with 40 hours weekly and occasional Saturdays. A UK driving licence is required, with up to 6 points, and the package includes overtime and a generous earning potential with pension and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair (or Level 3 preferred).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.

Responsabilités

• Service and repair vehicles at customer locations (driveways or car parks).
• Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, tire rotations, brakes inspection.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve issues.
• Communicate repair findings and recommendations to customers.
• Process card payments for services rendered.
• Keep up to date with automotive technology and repair techniques.
• Maintain accurate service records and parts used.

Description du poste

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repairs via pre-booked appointments at customers home addresses or places of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Must have the right to work in the UK.

Location: Newbury

Pay / salary: £40,170 OTE: In Excess of £52,000

Job type: Permanent / full-time role

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Technician role Home based, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am 5pm with 1 Saturday per month. When working the Saturday, you will receive a day off in that week. Any overtime past 5pm or an additional Saturday, is paid at time and a half (£30ph)

1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional more flexibility, more reward.

Job Responsibilities for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) at the customers selected location, e.g. driveway or office car park.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations.
• Payment handling through card transactions.
• Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
• Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used.

What you'll need to be considered for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role

• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or ideally a Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum of 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or a mobile vehicle role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.
• A customer-focused approach.
• Must have a full UK driving licence max 6 points, no bans.
