Octane Recruitment Limited currently advertises a Mobile Vehicle Technician position based in Luton, working from home with visits to customer locations. The role is permanent, full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am–5pm with one Saturday per month. Overtime paid after 5pm and on an additional Saturday is available.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or mobile role.
• Full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) at customer locations such as driveways or car parks.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks: oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools/software to identify and resolve issues.
• Communicate repair findings and recommendations to customers.
• Handle payments via card transactions.
• Keep records of work performed and parts used.

Job description

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repair, via prebooked appointments, at customers home address or place of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Pay / salary: £45,370 (inclusive of LWA) OTE: In Excess of £57,000

Job type: Permanent / Full time role

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Technician role Home based, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am 5pm with 1 Saturday per month. When working the Saturday, you will receive a day off in that week. Any overtime past 5pm or an additional Saturday, is paid at time and a half (£30ph) 1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional more flexibility, more reward.

Job Responsibilities for the Mobile Technician role

What youll need to be considered for the Mobile Technician role

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, orequivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.
