Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician to perform servicing and repairs at customer locations, including EVs, across Barnet. You will work a 40-hour week, Monday to Saturday, with occasional Saturdays and optional overtime for extra earnings.

A comprehensive benefits package accompanies the role. Applicants must hold Level 2 (or higher) in light vehicle maintenance and repair and have at least two years of post-qualification experience, plus a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 or 3 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence with up to 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair vehicles at customer locations, including EVs.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections (oil changes, tires, brakes).
• Diagnose and resolve vehicle problems using diagnostic tools.
• Keep accurate service records and communicate recommendations to customers.

Job description

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repair, via prebooked appointments, at customers home address or place of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Must have right to work in the UK status.

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Technician role

Home based, working 40 hours per week, across 5 days (Monday to Saturday) 8am 8PM, working 1 in 4 Saturdays.

1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional more flexibility, more reward.

Job Responsibilities for the Mobile Technician role

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) customer selected location e.g. driveway, office car park.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations.
• Payment handling through card transactions.
• Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
• Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used.
  

What youll need to be considered for the Mobile Technician role

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.
