Job summary

Halfords is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician in Essex (Herongate) to deliver workshop-quality servicing and repair work at customers' homes and workplaces from a fully equipped van. You’ll manage your day, build customer relationships, and progress within our growing mobile team.

The role offers a 44-hour week, 8am–6pm, 1 in 2 weekends, with an on-target earnings up to £35,838.72 comprising base £33,038.72 and £2,800 annual bonus.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 or 3 in vehicle maintenance & repair, or time-served experience.
• Proven experience in a vehicle servicing & maintenance role.
• A full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Great communication skills and confidence dealing with customers.

Responsibilities

• No two days are the same as you use your technical expertise across a wide range of servicing, maintenance and repair work, helping to keep the nation moving.
• Interim, Full and Major vehicle services
• Electrical fittings and Battery replacements
• Vehicle inspections and fault diagnostics
• Tyre fitting, puncture repairs and wheel balancing
• Air conditioning servicing and re-gassing

Are you a skilled mechanic looking for a role that offers more independence, variety and the opportunity to take your expertise directly to customers? On-target earnings up to £35,838.72, comprising a base salary of £33,038.72 and a monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £2,800 per year.

Working from a fully equipped van and supported by smart technology, you'll manage your own day, build trusted customer relationships and use your technical skills to keep the nation moving.
