Job summary

Octane Recruitment in Edinburgh is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician to join a leading vehicle rental specialist. You will service and repair a range of vehicles, perform diagnostics, and travel to local workshops as needed.

The role offers a solid salary (£44,000–£45,000 per annum), overtime opportunities, a company van, 25 days’ leave, pension, and life assurance. A full UK driving licence and Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
• Proof of certificate required before starting.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and maintenance of all vehicles.
• Electrical, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis and repair; warranty work may be required.
• Department of Transport (MOT) testing duties if qualified.

Mobile Vehicle Technician Role:

• You will be working on site in a workshop & travelling to other local workshops as an when needed
• Carry out servicing and maintenance of all vehicles
• Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fault diagnosis and repair, this work may include warranty approved work in line with our brand parameters
• Department of Transport (MOT) testing duties (if qualified)

Mobile Vehicle Technician Requirements:

• Must have a minimum or equivalent to NVQ, IMI, Mechanical Engineering or City and Guilds level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (will accept HGV/ PSV / LCV maintenance & repair level 3 also). We will consider level 2 if they have 5+ years experience as a Vehicle Technician
• Must have proof of certificate as they will be requested & needed before starting
• Must hold a full UK driving licence
