Octane Recruitment Limited is assisting in filling a Mobile Vehicle Technician role in Bridgwater. You will service and repair vehicles at customers' locations, including EVs, and handle routine maintenance and diagnostics.

A customer-focused, independent worker who can manage spatially distributed tasks is ideal. The position offers a standard 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with one Saturday per month and optional overtime paid at time and a half.

Qualificações

• Level 2 (ideally Level 3) qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence with up to 6 points; no bans.

Responsabilidades

• Servicing and repairing vehicles at customer locations (e.g., driveway or office car park).
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve issues.
• Communicate repair recommendations to customers.
• Handle payments via card transactions.
• Keep up to date with automotive technology and maintain thorough records.

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repairs via pre-booked appointments at customers home addresses or places of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Must have the right to work in the UK.

Location: Bridgwater

Pay / salary: £40,170 OTE: In Excess of £52,000

Job type: Permanent / full-time role

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Technician role

Home based, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am 5pm with 1 Saturday per month. When working the Saturday, you will receive a day off in that week. Any overtime past 5pm or an additional Saturday, is paid at time and a half (£30ph)

1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional more flexibility, more reward.

Job Responsibilities for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) at the customers selected location, e.g. driveway or office car park.


• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.


• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.


• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues.


• Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations.


• Payment handling through card transactions.


• Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.


• Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used.

What youll need to be considered for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role

• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or ideally a Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).


• Must have a minimum of 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or a mobile vehicle role.


• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.


• A customer-focused approach.


• Must have a full UK driving licence max 6 points, no bans.
