Job summary

Lab49, an award-winning specialist consultancy, is seeking a Mobile Team Tech Lead in the UK. You will own technical direction, deliver high-quality mobile software, and lead engineers on client engagements for large banking projects.

You’ll design iOS/Android architectures, mentor engineers, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure delivery excellence on-site in London or Birmingham five days a week.

Qualifications

• 10-12+ years designing and building complex software systems.
• 4+ years leading Agile teams.
• Proficiency in Swift and native iOS development tools (SwiftUI, UIKit, SwiftData, SwiftConcurrency).
• Experience in consumer banking including onboarding and account management.
• Familiarity with integrating RESTful APIs and third-party libraries.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, deliver, and test iOS/Android applications with a product-focused view.
• Lead technical direction and mentor engineers across the team.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders, designers, product partners, and leadership to ensure technical soundness and delivery excellence.
• Maintain hands-on leadership while guiding architecture and engineering best practices.
