Job summary

Frontier is seeking a Mobile Seed Plant Operator to join our team in Holton on a permanent, full-time basis. You will drive to farms, process farm-saved seed, ensure quality, and support the workshop fabrication team with in-house manufacture of bespoke mobile seed processors.

The role involves running and servicing the mobile seed plant, supervising staff on customer sites, coordinating loads of chemicals and bags, and delivering Crop Protection products during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Agricultural, engineering or grain handling experience would be an advantage, full training provided including PA1 & PA11.
• Welding and fabrication/engineering or coachbuilding experience.
• Mechanic/Bodyshop experience would be desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Run the mobile seed plant to clean and treat farm-saved seed.
• Service the mobile seed plant to required standards.
• Supervise support staff on site at customer premises.
• Assist the Site Manager with regular safety checks.
• Organise loading of chemicals and bag requirements per orders.
• Deliver Crop Protection products during peak periods.

Job description

We are looking for a Mobile Seed Plant Operator to join the Frontier team, based at Holton, on a permanent, full-time basis.

You will be responsible for driving to farms and processing farm-saved seed, checking quality of the seed, taking samples and maintaining mobile machinery always ensuring the site/machinery is clean and tidy and health and safety processes are always adhered to. Alongside this we are looking for someone to support the workshop fabrication team with the in-house manufacture of our bespoke mobile seed processors.

About You

Your Role

• Servicing the mobile seed plant to the required standards
• Supervising support staff whilst operating on the customer’s premises
• Assisting the Site Manager to carry out regular safety checks
• Organising the loading of chemical and bag requirements on to vehicles, as per customer orders
• Delivery of Crop Protection products during periods of the year
