Job summary

Frontier Agriculture Limited in Hermitage, UK, is seeking a Mobile Seed Plant Operator on a permanent, full-time basis. You will plan your daily workload and drive to farms to process Farm Saved Seed, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction.

The role also involves maintaining mobile and site machinery, adhering to Health & Safety, and working with site staff to meet customer orders. Full UK driving licence required; PA1/PA11 training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• PA1 & PA11 seed treatment handling & application training provided.
• Previous agricultural, mechanical, or grain handling experience is advantageous, but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Run the mobile seed plant to clean and treat various products.
• Service the mobile seed plant to the required standards.
• Supervise support staff whilst operating on the customer’s premises and on site.
• Assist the Site Manager as workload requires.
• Organise loading of chemicals and bag requirements onto vehicles as per customer orders.
• Organise your own workload and, at times, work unsupervised.

An opportunity has arisen to join the Frontier team, based at Hermitage. We are looking for a Mobile Seed Plant Operator to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.

You will be responsible for planning your daily workload and driving to farms to process Farm Saved Seed. An important part of your role will be continuously checking product quality, taking samples and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will also be responsible for maintaining mobile and site machinery while ensuring it is clean and tidy and that Health & Safety processes are always adhered to.

About You

• Full UK driving licence required (HGV Class 2 would be an advantage but full training will be given to the successful candidate)
• Previous Agricultural, Mechanical or grain handling experience would be an advantage, but full training will be provided for the successful candidate (PA1 & PA11 - Seed Treatment Handling & Application)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally
• Highly organised with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively
