Job summary

Frontier Agriculture is seeking a Mobile Seed Plant Operator based at Holton on a permanent, full-time basis. You will operate, service and clean the mobile seed plant, process farm-saved seed, take samples and ensure health and safety standards on site.

Training will be provided (PA1 and PA11). Welding/fabrication experience is valued, and there is the potential to contribute to our in-house manufacture of bespoke mobile seed processors. A safety-focused team awaits.

Qualifications

• Experience in agriculture, engineering or grain handling is advantageous with full training provided (PA1 & PA11).
• Welding and fabrication/engineering or coachbuilding experience is desirable.
• Mechanic/bodyshop experience is a plus but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Run the mobile seed plant to clean and treat products.
• Service the mobile seed plant to required standards.
• Supervise support staff on customer premises.
• Assist the Site Manager with regular safety checks.
• Organise loading of chemicals and bag requirements per orders.
• Deliver Crop Protection products during seasonal peaks.

Job description

We are looking for a Mobile Seed Plant Operator to join the Frontier team, based at Holton, on a permanent, full-time basis.

You will be responsible for driving to farms and processing farm-saved seed, checking quality of the seed, taking samples and maintaining mobile machinery always ensuring the site/machinery is clean and tidy and health and safety processes are always adhered to. Alongside this we are looking for someone to support the workshop fabrication team with the in-house manufacture of our bespoke mobile seed processors.

About You

• Agricultural, engineering or grain handling experience would be an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right candidate including, PA1 & PA11.

Your Role

As a Mobile Seed Plant Operator your role will involve:

• Running the mobile seed plant to clean and treat various products
• Servicing the mobile seed plant to the required standards
• Supervising support staff whilst operating on the customer’s premises
• Assisting the Site Manager to carry out regular safety checks
• Organising the loading of chemical and bag requirements on to vehicles, as per customer orders
• Delivery of Crop Protection products during periods of the year
