Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a friendly Mobile Catering Assistant to support the kitchen team across North East Lincolnshire. You will help prepare meals, set up counters, serve pupils and staff, and keep the kitchen clean and safe.

No prior kitchen experience is required, but a positive attitude, attention to detail, and a focus on safeguarding pupils are essential. Basic reading, writing and computer skills are expected.

Qualifications

• No prior kitchen experience required; you just need a positive attitude, good attention to detail and a focus on keeping children safe.
• Must-have: Food Safety Level 2 certificate (or willingness to train to obtain one).
• Basic reading, writing and computer skills are expected.
• Be organised, reliable, and take pride in doing a great job.
• Enjoy working as part of a team and communicating with children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare fresh food and serve meals using planned menus.
• Set up food counters, servery equipment, and dining hall before lunchtime.
• Serve students and staff with warm, efficient service.
• Wash up plates, pots, and utensils; keep work areas clean and tidy.
• Unpack deliveries and store items safely with proper stock rotation.
• Use basic kitchen equipment and digital tills where needed.
• Clear away counters and dining hall equipment after lunchtime.
