Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust at Greenacre School is seeking a flexible relief Catering Assistant to join our supportive kitchen team serving pupils and staff. You will help prepare, cook and present nutritious meals while respecting dietary needs.

This casual, zero-hours role offers full training and requires reliability, teamwork and a strong work ethic. Interviews are virtual; DBS checks and safeguarding duties apply, with training in Food Safety or First Aid provided.

Qualifications

• Reliability and good time-keeping are essential for every shift.
• Teamwork in a busy kitchen to deliver meals for pupils.
• Willingness to learn and undertake training, e.g., Food Safety or First Aid.
• Flexibility to cover relief shifts and varying hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Catering Lead in serving wholesome meals to pupils.
• Prepare, cook, and serve food while accommodating dietary needs.
• Keep dining areas, kitchens and equipment clean and tidy.
• Safely use catering equipment and follow hygiene guidelines.
• Help with stock control, menu support and basic catering IT systems.
• Maintain high safety and safeguarding standards on site.
