Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is hiring a relief catering assistant to join the school kitchen team in Leeds. You will assist the Catering Lead, help prepare and serve healthy meals to pupils, and support food safety and hygiene routines.

The role is zero-hours and highly flexible, with training provided. No formal qualifications are required, just reliability, teamwork and a strong work ethic, plus willingness to undertake relevant training when needed.

Qualifications

• A reliable, hardworking individual with a strong work ethic.
• Comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to safeguarding.
• Willing to undertake relevant training such as Food Safety or First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Support the Catering Lead in preparing and serving meals to pupils.
• Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious food while accommodating dietary needs.
• Keep dining areas and kitchens clean, sanitised and tidy through regular washing up.
• Safely use catering equipment and follow food safety, hygiene and COSHH guidelines.
