Job summary
Roadside Technician (Field based) is responsible for attending roadside breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and performing mechanical and electrical repairs to keep members mobile. The role operates across a national breakdown company’s network, with a competitive salary and overtime opportunities.
Candidates should have Level 2/3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualifications, at least 2 years post-qualification experience, and a full UK driving licence with up to 6 points.
Qualifications
- Must have Level 2 or Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualifications.
- Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
- Full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.
Responsibilities
- Attend roadside breakdowns and assess faults quickly and accurately.
- Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs (battery changes, wheel changes, minor engine fixes).
- Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
- Provide temporary solutions when full repair isnt possible to keep members mobile.
- Advise members clearly on next steps and recovery if needed.
- Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.
