Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles in members’ moments of need. The role offers a strong base salary (£36,400) with realistic OTE (£61,000) and shifts that start and finish at your home, with optional overtime.

You’ll benefit from a structured development programme, IMI accreditation, and ongoing support to grow your skills within the RAC’s nationwide patrol service.

Qualifications

• Must have driving licence (UK) with fewer than 6 points.
• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent required.
• Experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic is essential if no NVQ.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults independently and provide quick, confident solutions to members.
• Use latest diagnostic tools to identify faults and get members back on the road.
