Job summary

Selwood is seeking a Mobile Fitter to join the Bedford branch, covering the surrounding region. You will perform mechanical pump maintenance at customer sites and within the branch, on a call-out rota with standby allowances and overtime payments.

The role requires a Full UK driving license (6 points max) and NVQ level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. You will work safely with PPE, ensure accurate site signatures, and uphold vehicle and site housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 in Mechanical engineering (or other relevant qualifications) or equivalent work experience.
• Experience of working with engines or a mechanical engineering background, with ability to diagnose issues.
• Experience of working in a plant environment, on site with customers and in a workshop would be beneficial.
• Willingness to grow within the role, open to training opportunities, learning new skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical pump maintenance at customer sites and in the branch.
• Work safely with a strong emphasis on PPE requirements.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
• Obtain signatures/names for task processing to ensure smooth workflow.
• Maintain clean work areas and vehicles to a high standard.
• Complete daily vehicle defect reports to ensure safety and compliance.
