Job summary

SER Limited is seeking a skilled Mobile Plant Fitter in Buckinghamshire to service dumpers, rollers, excavators, and loading shovels. You will travel to client sites to perform maintenance, diagnose faults, and repair plant machinery to keep equipment running.

The role offers a basic salary of £37,500–£40,000, a 42.5‑hour week, overtime paid at 1.5x, a company van with a fuel card, and door‑to‑door pay, plus 23 days holiday and a pension scheme.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a plant fitter or mechanic.
• Strong knowledge of dumpers, rollers, excavators and loading shovels.
• Skilled in diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Full UK driving license.
• Excellent problem solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time.

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mobile Plant Fitter to join our team. Responsibilities

• Conducting routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a variety of plant machinery.
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
• Ensuring all equipment is maintained to the highest standards to minimize downtime.
• Completing service reports and maintaining accurate records of work carried out.
• Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
• Providing excellent customer service when working on-site or liaising with clients.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a plant fitter, mechanic, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of plant machinery, including dumpers, rollers, excavators, and loading shovels.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Relevant qualifications in plant maintenance or engineering (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
• Full UK driving license.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Day-to-Day

• Traveling to client sites to perform maintenance and repairs on plant machinery.
• Diagnosing faults and implementing effective solutions to ensure equipment is operational.
• Communicating with clients to provide updates on work progress and any additional requirements.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including the company van.
• Collaborating with the wider team to ensure seamless service delivery.
