Perfect Placement is recruiting for a Mobile Plant Engineer on behalf of a national fleet company near Dartford. This role rewards technical expertise and offers a supportive environment with on-site work.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or equivalent as a technician/plant mechanic.
• Proven experience with commercial vehicles, vans and plant machinery.
• Proficient in diagnostics, servicing and repairs on vehicles aged 6 months to 6 years.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Serve and repair a diverse fleet including plant machinery and vans.
• Carry out routine maintenance (brakes, clutches, timing belts, suspension, turbo).
• Occasional gearbox repairs, typically under warranty.
• Ensure work meets manufacturer standards and quality expectations.
• Manage stock orders with pre-approval for external purchases.
• Support emergency response via on-call rota as needed.
• Maintain accurate service records and reports.
• Support reliable and efficient fleet maintenance.

Duties of the Mobile Plant Engineer

• Servicing and repairing a diverse fleet of utility vehicles, including plant machinery and commercial vans
• Conducting routine maintenance such as brakes, clutches, timing belts, suspension, and turbo replacements

• Ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer standards and high quality
