Job summary

Asda Opticians in Washington is seeking a dedicated Mobile Optometrist to deliver high-quality eye care on a part-time basis and support NHS extended services. You’ll work with our team to maintain standards, provide patient care, and develop new services.

The role requires GOC registration, NHS performer accreditation, and a commitment to CPD; Asda funds accreditation and training, with a flexible, patient‑focused culture and strong community ties.

Qualifications

• A fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC.
• A registered performer with your NHS area team MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining Asda – funded and supported by us)
• On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD
• Able to use your skills and passion for the role to deliver a memorable customer experience
• Passionate about developing new patient services and shaping the culture of the department

Responsibilities

• Perform eye examinations and extended service examinations.
• Conduct contact lens fittings and patient care.
• Support training and coaching with the Dispensing Optician Manager and maintain departmental standards.
