Job summary
Rydon Maintenance is seeking a Fabric Engineer / Building Maintenance Operative to support NHS repairs and maintenance across sites between Swindon and Salisbury. You will work in a mobile capacity providing reactive, planned, and preventive maintenance across hospital facilities.
The role requires hands-on maintenance experience, a valid UK driving licence, and a proactive approach to safety. Competitive benefits and a company van are included, with opportunities for career progression.
Qualifications
- Previous relevant experience in the maintenance of buildings.
- Experience in NHS or healthcare facilities is preferred.
- Must have a full UK driving licence.
Responsibilities
- Perform reactive maintenance and weekly/monthly PPMs (e.g. emergency lighting, water temperatures, fire alarm testing).
- Carry out repair and maintenance tasks (doors, taps, TMV servicing/replacement, cabinets, pipework, etc.).
- Contribute to planned upgrade works and refurbishments for safety and service continuity.
- Receive jobs, complete risk assessments, and close jobs in real time using a handheld device (PDA).
- Join the out-of-hours call-out rota for emergencies; standard hours are 8am–5pm, Monday to Friday.
