Job summary

AFI-Rentals is recruiting a MEWPS Engineer based from our London East depot. The role is a mobile position, visiting customer sites in the London East region to service a growing hire fleet.

You will perform PDIs, servicing, LOLER checks and repairs while keeping records via PDA and ensuring high machine availability with the engineering team and hire office. You will hold an engineering qualification (ideally plant maintenance) with a minimum NVQ Level 2, be competent in electro/hydraulic

Qualifications

• You must hold an engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) – minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Be competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
• You will be experienced in fault-finding/diagnostics.
• You will be working closely with customers and colleagues, so you must be able to communicate professionally.
• You must be able to prioritise tasks in an ever-changing, demanding hire environment.
• A valid IPAF Operator licence/certification is required.
• Sound mechanical knowledge in a powered access background.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
• Attending breakdowns on customer sites.
• Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company-issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
• Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability.
