Job summary

Equans UK & Ireland is seeking a Mobile Mechanical/Heating Engineer to service South Wales and the South West on a permanent basis. The role is full-time (40 hours per week) with a company vehicle and benefits. You will maintain and repair heating and hot water systems across multiple sites, and complete installation tasks with certification.

The ideal candidate will hold relevant Plumbing qualifications and a Gas Safe registration, with full driving licence. DBS check may be required.

Qualifications

• Recognised industry qualification required; previous experience essential.
• Gas Safe qualifications desirable.
• C&G Level 2 in Plumbing or Gas; Level 3 preferred if available.
• Must have a full driving licence.
• DBS Enhanced with Barred Lists check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair heating and hot water systems on multiple sites.
• Carry out installation work and complete relevant certification.
• Cover sites within contracts (e.g., Stellantis, Guide Dogs, IOPC, ITV).
• Complete PPM, reactive and breakdown paperwork promptly for contract administrator.
• Identify plant failures and document in CAFM system; highlight improvement areas.
• Participate in on-call rota.

Job description

Equans is looking for a Mobile Mechanical/Heating Engineer to join our team working across South Wales and the South West on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle and benefits package.

The majority of the work will be based in South Wales and the surrounding areas whilst also covering contracts in Bristol occasionally.

What will you deliver?

• Working on the following equipment but not limited to; Commercial Boilers, Associated Gas Equipment, Water Heaters, Water Supply etc.
• Maintenance and repair of heating/hot water systems and general plumbing
• Carry out Installation work and complete appropriate Certification
• Cover numerous sites that fall within the contract such as Stellantis, Guide Dogs, IOPC, ITV etc.
• Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator
• Ensure reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. Identify and record all plant failures using quotation forms and issue to line manager. This is to be indicated and recorded within the CAFM system
• Take part in the on call rota

Who are you?

• A recognised industry qualification will be required, and previous experience is essential
• Appropriate Plumbing Qualifications essential. Gas Safe Qualifications desirable
• C&G Level 2 in Plumbing or Gas. Ideally Level 3
• Must have a full drivers’ licence

This role includes a DBS Enhanced with Barred Lists check therefore ability to pass is essential.
