Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Mobile Mechanical Engineer to service North West London MET Police sites, performing plumbing and ventilation maintenance and fault diagnosis. The role requires efficient on-site support, documentation, and a proactive approach to facilities management.

Candidates should have Level 2/3 Plumbing or Heating & Ventilation qualifications and be willing to obtain MET Police SC clearance. Hours are 08:00–17:00 on site.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance of plumbing and ventilation systems.
• Willingness to undergo MET Police SC clearance.
• Experience with on-site service to two locations under one contract.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPMs, reactive maintenance and fault-finding across MET Police sites in North West London.
• Be the client’s main point of contact, report defects, and keep the client updated during visits.
• Complete inspection and remedial documentation accurately and on time.

We're looking for a Mobile Mechanical Engineer who will work across the MET Police contract, supporting two sites within the same account and delivering high-quality maintenance and engineering services.

Role Responsibilities

• Carry out PPMs, reactive maintenance and fault-finding tasks across North West London MET Police stations.
• Act as a key point of contact for the client, answering queries, reporting defects and keeping them fully updated during service visits.
• Complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time, including inspection logs and remedial records.
• Work across two sites located opposite each other under one contract.

Job Purpose

• Service, maintain and repair plumbing and ventilation installations, including AHUs, intake/extract systems, thermal wheels, FCUs and water system assets.
• Maintain and support systems such as booster sets, chlorifiers, and water heaters.
• A background in facilities management or mobile maintenance.
• Experience working on-call across a region.
• Level 2 or Level 3 Plumbing or Heating & Ventilation qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Experience in commercial building maintenance from a mechanical engineering perspective.
• Willingness to undergo MET Police SC Clearance (may take up to 6 months).
