Job summary

EQUANS is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Assistant to join the Greater Manchester Police maintenance contract at Eccles Police Station. The role will cover various police stations across Greater Manchester, performing maintenance, repairs, and cleaning tasks on a 40-hour week, with on-call rotation.

You will report to the Maintenance Manager, handle PDA-driven jobs, respond to breakdowns, and complete paperwork promptly. Travel across sites, with training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance role and PPM completion desirable.
• Full UK driving licence required for travel between sites and on-call.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Maintenance Manager.
• Undertake allocated jobs via PDA/mobile devices.
• Respond to breakdowns and complete paperwork promptly and accurately.
• Carry out general duties including manual tasks for relocations, tidying and cleaning estates.
• Work alone or in a team on routine maintenance across the estate.
• Attend training programmes as required to meet contract requirements.

EQUANS are looking for a Mobile Maintenance Assistant that would join our Greater Manchester Police maintenance contract at Eccles Police Station

• this would include covering various police stations across Great Manchester.

This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, plus participation in the on call rota (1 in 10 which includes weekends). Key activities: Reporting to the Maintenance Manager To undertake any allocated jobs as directed by Maintenance Manager, in line with requests sent via PDA/mobile devices To respond promptly and efficiently to breakdowns and ensure all associated paperwork is completed in a satisfactory, accurate and prompt manner To carry out general duties including support by manual labour for relocations and moves, tidying and cleaning Estates areas and Plant rooms. Work alone with minimum supervision or within a team to carry out routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning activity across the estate. Required to attend training programmes as necessary to meet contract requirements and for self-development purposes.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience: Experience in a maintenance role and of PPM completion is desirable Jobs would include unblocking toilets, litter picking, fixing locks, painting, fire alarm testing, cleaning.

IMPORTANT You will be required to go through level 2 Police vetting procedure. Which will include a full background check of your history including any criminal history and financial History. Requirement to achieve and retain relevant vetting clearance required by the client IMPORTANT….Not clearing vetting clearance first then your application would not go any further. You will only be formally offered the position once you have cleared vetting.
