EQUANS is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Assistant to join the Greater Manchester Police maintenance contract at Eccles Police Station and other sites across Greater Manchester. The role is permanent, full-time (40 hours/week), Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, with an on-call rota (1 in 10, including weekends).

You will perform maintenance, repairs, and cleaning across multiple sites, reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance role and of PPM completion is desirable.
• Good customer care and people skills.
• Ability to work well in a team or unsupervised.
• Basic fabric handyperson skills.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.
• Must able to use a phone and tablet for works PPMs.
• Must have a full valid UK driving licence due to requirement to travel between sites across Greater Manchester and for On Call.

Job description

EQUANS are looking for a Mobile Maintenance Assistant that would join our Greater Manchester Police maintenance contract at Eccles Police Station – this would include covering various police stations across Great Manchester. This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, plus participation in the on call rota (1 in 10 which includes weekends).

Key activities:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager

To undertake any allocated jobs as directed by Maintenance Manager, in line with requests sent via PDA/mobile devices

To respond promptly and efficiently to breakdowns and ensure all associated paperwork is completed in a satisfactory, accurate and prompt manner

To carry out general duties including support by manual labour for relocations and moves, tidying and cleaning Estates areas and Plant rooms.

Work alone with minimum supervision or within a team to carry out routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning activity across the estate.

Required to attend training programmes as necessary to meet contract requirements and for self-development purposes.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

Experience in a maintenance role and of PPM completion is desirable

Jobs would include unblocking toilets, litter picking, fixing locks, painting, fire alarm testing, cleaning. General maintenance Jobs.

IMPORTANT

You will be required to go through level 2 Police vetting procedure.

Which will include a full background check of your history including any criminal history and financial History.

Requirement to achieve and retain relevant vetting clearance required by the client

IMPORTANT

Not clearing vetting clearance first then your application would not go any further.

You will only be formally offered the position once you have cleared vetting.
