Job summary

MacStaff Limited is seeking a Mobile M&E Engineer to service premier residential buildings across Greater London and the Home Counties. You will handle planned and reactive maintenance, diagnosing faults and ensuring high standards of safety and efficiency.

The role requires strong mechanical building services knowledge, gas qualifications and a valid UK driving licence, with a competitive package and a company vehicle.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in M&E maintenance, facilities engineering or HVAC.
• City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Heating & Ventilation or HVAC.
• Gas qualifications such as COCN1/CCN1 and/or F-Gas certification.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical building services.
• Service, maintain and repair HVAC systems, boilers, pumps and pressurisation units.
• Inspect plant rooms; diagnose faults; ensure safe, efficient operation.
• Complete service reports and compliance documentation.
• Liaise with property managers, agents, contractors and residents.
• Support health and safety and regulatory compliance across maintenance.
• Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota as required.

You will like

The Mobile M&E Engineer role itself, where you will take responsibility for planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding and repairs across a portfolio of premium residential properties.

Working independently and alongside an experienced engineering team, your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance across mechanical and associated electrical building services.
• Servicing, maintaining and repairing HVAC systems, heating plant, boilers, pumps and pressurisation units.
• Maintaining commercial and domestic gas appliances, hot water and domestic water systems, where appropriately qualified.
• Inspecting plant rooms, diagnosing faults and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.
• Completing service reports, maintenance records and statutory compliance documentation.
• Liaising professionally with property managers, managing agents, contractors and residents.
• Supporting health, safety and regulatory compliance across all maintenance activities.
• Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota where required.

You will have

To succeed as Mobile M&E Engineer, you will have a strong mechanical building services background, excellent fault-finding abilities and a professional approach to customer service.

You will ideally bring:

• Proven experience in M&E maintenance, facilities engineering, HVAC or mechanical building services.
• Relevant City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Heating & Ventilation or HVAC.
• Commercial and/or domestic gas qualifications, such as COCN1, CCN1 or equivalent, and/or F-Gas certification.
• Practical experience maintaining boilers, pumps, heating systems, HVAC equipment and associated plant.
• Good mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Full UK driving licence.

Additional qualifications or experience in BMS, CAFM, G3 Unvented Hot Water, electrical systems or high-end residential maintenance would be advantageous.

Engineers with a strong mechanical bias and complementary electrical skills are particularly encouraged to apply.
