Job summary

Thames Water is seeking an Instrumentation, Control and Automation Technician to service the Hatfield area, covering Mill Green STW and surrounding pumping stations. You'll work on pumps, valves, PLCs, and instrumentation to keep customer sites running smoothly.

You will diagnose faults, perform planned maintenance, and contribute to plant resilience while developing cross-discipline skills within a close-knit team.

Qualifications

• Ideally qualified to HNC level or NVQ3 in instrumentation, control and automation.
• 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification preferred.
• Good understanding of operational plant and control systems.
• Experience with relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell & Allen-Bradley).
• Ability to read fault-finds from circuit diagrams and work with inverter drives.
• Experience in calibration and maintenance of front-line instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs to minimise disruption.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance on instrumentation, control and automation equipment.
• Work on pumps, control equipment, actuated valves, penstocks and measurement devices.
• Contribute to continued plant resilience and cross-skill across disciplines.
