We are March, the UK’s leading provider of critical engineering services. Our expertise as a multi-disciplinary engineering partner across infrastructure, process, and digital services has led to long-term partnerships with leading organisations in everything from food and drink and utilities to high-security industries such as defence, aerospace, and nuclear. We are currently recruiting a Mobile HVAC Engineer to join our team, ensuring the smooth operation of HVAC systems across a number of commercial sites in South Wales / South West.

This position is ideal for experienced breakdown engineers with expertise in reactive maintenance and repairs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and replacing filters, recordkeeping.
2. Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
3. Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues and make necessary repairs.
4. Test HVAC systems to ensure they are operating at optimal levels.
5. Responsible for statutory compliance of F-Gas.
6. Carry out installation of air conditioning systems when required.
7. Production of detailed technical quotations - including correct parts and labour times required to ensure profitability, cost control, and client satisfaction.
8. Maintain strict compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
9. Keep detailed records of all maintenance work performed.
10. Escalate issues to Supervisor/Contract Manager immediately.
11. Form part of the out-of-hours call-out rota, attend emergency repair works as required.
12. Collaborate effectively with a skilled team to achieve client objectives.
13. Liaise with specialist sub-contractors and engineers with other disciplines to ensure the efficient operation of the plant/area without disruption to the client.
14. Accurately document completed work and materials used.
15. Collaborate with colleagues for smooth and effective operations.

Skills and Experience

1. Experience of working on a range of Air Conditioning equipment including VRVs, VRFs, and Splits.
2. Outstanding communication and teamwork capabilities.
3. Demonstrated expertise in commercial facilities maintenance.
4. Exceptional problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
5. Be able to operate SMART devices and complete electronic documentation.
6. Strong fault-finding experience is essential in this role, and you will be expected to carry out works on traditional plant equipment right through to more modern systems.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner.

Specific Qualifications

1. NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration or Air Conditioning, FGAS Certification.
2. Proven background in HVAC maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.
3. IPAF/PASMA beneficial.
4. Hold a valid UK driving licence.
5. Clean UK driver’s license.

Due to the nature of the contract, you will need to go through contract-specific vetting – DBS, financial, and employment background checks.
