Specification Sales Engineer - BMS (Demand Generation)

We have an opportunity for a Specification Sales Engineer - BMS (Demand Generation) to join our Building Management Systems (BMS) sales team at Honeywell. You would be part of an established team that strives to help our customers automate their buildings, reducing their carbon footprint while providing optimal environments for occupants by developing solutions from across the Honeywell Portfolio.

This role offers the chance to work with advanced control technologies and engineers, shaping the world we live in and expanding opportunities for our extensive partner channel. It is a remote role (within commuting distance to Manchester/Liverpool) with approximately 50% travel to customer sites, consultants, and Honeywell offices.

Honeywell Building Automation is transforming building operations to enhance safety, security, energy efficiency, and operational effectiveness, creating better building experiences. Our portfolio includes software, hardware, and services, with an outcome-focused approach to improve building management.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Identify and convert potential new end-user customers, consultants, and contractors into long-term Honeywell partners, focusing on business development and increasing market share through New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
  2. Research and develop new markets and applications, building relationships with key stakeholders such as end users, consultants, and developers to foster sustainable growth.
  3. Promote Honeywell BMS products and services at industry conferences, meetings, and events, and organize workshops, webinars, and training sessions for stakeholders.
  4. Contribute to BMS strategy and implementation via research and business development, collaborating with account managers and solution architects to secure sales opportunities, and supporting marketing efforts by creating content for communication channels.
  5. Act as an industry specialist capable of communicating effectively with diverse clients, supporting internal and external customers, and challenging their thinking to sell solutions.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong sales experience in Smart Building Technology or BMS, with a proven track record in engaging key stakeholders.
  • Commercial and technical understanding of BMS control systems, HVAC controls market, applications, and competitor technologies.
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse clients, with excellent presentation and communication skills, and a motivated, self-reliant attitude.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Experience in preparing BMS designs, specifications, and documentation across segments, focusing on energy, sustainability, and IoT control solutions.
  • Solution selling expertise, emphasizing the features, benefits, and value of well-designed BMS solutions.
