Job description

We are looking for a full-time Air Conditioning Engineer to join our growing team of service engineers. You’ll be working alongside our other service engineers across a large number of our commercial clients in the Shropshire and surrounding areas.

This is a fully remote role and requires a full UK driving licence.

This role supports the effective, efficient, and safe delivery of our client services by attending client sites to conduct planned and reactive maintenance.

Thermatic Technical FM provides nationwide coverage across the full spectrum of Hard FM services to large commercial clients. Our team of mobile engineers is supported by the account teams at Head Office to deliver reactive breakdown and planned maintenance services.

Hours & Location of Work:

Main location: This is a fully mobile role covering Shropshire and surrounding regions.

Regular hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm (40-hour week). Out-of-hours maintenance, early starts, late finishes, and night works are to be expected.

On Call: Includes a 24-hour rota on a maximum 1 week in 4 schedule (Friday-Thursday).

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

• Experience with Air Conditioning & Refrigeration equipment including VRVs, VRFs, Splits, and Chillers
• FGAS Cat 1
• NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
• Knowledge of Building Regulations
• Building Environmental and Electrical Services including HVAC systems
• Understanding of Health & Safety obligations
• Basic plumbing and building materials skills
• Asbestos Awareness

Desirable:

• IPAF & PASMA
• Part P Electrical certificate

Responsibilities include:

• Installation, commissioning, and maintenance of air conditioning and refrigeration systems
• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance as per schedules
• Providing accurate timesheet information
• Supporting team members and acting as second-man when required
• Participating in a 24-hour on-call rota
• Attending team meetings and briefings
• Supporting contract SLAs by timely attendance
• Maintaining positive client relationships
• Assisting with quotations and producing reports
• Escalating major issues
• Supporting training and upskilling of junior engineers
