Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Limited is seeking a Mobile HGV Technician based from home, covering Rugby and surrounding areas in the UK. The role offers industry-leading training from day one, with initial shadowing and office time, and the chance to work on customer sites with or without workshop facilities.

You will perform servicing, inspections, and repairs on various heavy vehicles, using diagnostic tools to locate faults.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in heavies (City & Guilds, NVQ and / or IRTEC).
• Previous experience working on a range of heavy goods vehicles.
• Full UK valid driving licence; role is mobile and paid door to door.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, inspections and repairs to a variety of commercial vehicles.
• Carry out diagnostics using manuals and test equipment to locate faults.
• Produce accurate reports after inspections of accident-damaged machines to enable repair.
• Work on customer sites with or without workshop facilities available.
• On-call circa 1 in 6/7 weeks.

Salary: £47,174 - £56,160 Basic (depending on qualifications) + Van, FC + Overtime (paid at 1.5X) OTE £60,000 - £65,000 +
Salaries reviewed once probation passed and also when IRTEC gained, my client will happily put you through your IRTEC. This role is paid door to door.

Mobile HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter opportunity

Due to increased business levels our specialist fleet maintenance company is looking to add an additional mobile HGV technician to the team. As a mobile HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitteryou will be based from home covering Rugby and the surrounding area. Industry leading training is offered from day 1 to include 2 weeks in an office environment and 1 week shadowing with an existing mobile HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter.

Duties of the Mobile HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter

• Perform a variety of routine servicing, inspections and subsequent repairs to a variety of commercial vehicles in and around Rugby
• Perform visual or operational checks to locate worn, dirty or maladjusted parts.
• Carry out technical inspections or use technical manuals and diagnostic techniques to find and repair inoperable or defective machine parts, components or systems using a small variety of test equipment.
• Will be required to undertake thorough inspections of accident damaged machines and produce accurate reports to enable repair.
• In this mobile HGV Technician/ Mechanic / Fitter role you will be working on customer sites with or without workshop facilities being available for use
• On call circa 1 in 6/7 weeks

Experience/skills required for the Mobile HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter

• Qualifications in heavies (City & Guilds, NVQ and / or IRTEC)
• Previous experience working on a range of heavy goods vehicles
• Any previous mobile HGV Technician/ Mechanic / Fitter experience would be beneficial
• Any experience gained working on GSE would be an advantage
• Full UK valid driving licence as the role is mobile and paid door to door
• Be based in Stoke or Stafford
