Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mobile HGV Technician to service East London, Purfleet and surrounding areas. The role is field-based with occasional workshop work, diagnosing, servicing and repairing commercial vehicles to manufacturer standards.

You'll join a nationally recognized fleet business offering structured training, progression to Master Technician, and a benefits package including a £1,500 joining bonus, overtime at 1.25x, 25 days holiday plus BH, pension and life

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent City & Guilds/apprenticeship.
• Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair a range of HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Carry out inspections, maintenance and fault finding to manufacturer standards.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and ensure safety compliance.
• Complete paperwork accurately and maintain high workmanship standards.
• Provide excellent customer service while working in the field.

Mobile HGV Technician

Location: East London / Purfleet (Field Based)

Salary: £45,000 Basic + £1,500 Joining Bonus + Overtime

Working Hours: Monday to Friday Days (No Weekends)

Mobile HGV Technician Role

• Diagnose, service and repair a wide range of HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Carry out inspections, maintenance and fault finding to manufacturer standards.
• Prepare commercial vehicles for MOT testing.
• Ensure all vehicles comply with safety and legal requirements.
• Work on a fleet including Mercedes-Benz, Iveco and Ford commercial vehicles.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and maintain high standards of workmanship.
• Provide excellent customer service whilst working independently in the field.

Mobile HGV Technician Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent City & Guilds / recognised apprenticeship).
• Previous experience working as an HGV Technician.
  • Must have a Full UK Class 1 HGV driving licence.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Able to pass employment vetting, including financial and criminal record checks.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
