Job summary

Dennis Eagle UK is seeking a Field Service Engineer to cover Aldridge and surrounding regions, with travel across the UK. The role involves servicing, repairing, and maintaining specialist vehicles at customer sites and workshops to ensure safety and peak performance.

You will diagnose faults, perform servicing, and prepare vehicles for MOTs, using PDA and diagnostic tools while maintaining thorough records. A strong customer-service focus and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance.
• Previous experience in Field Service, HGV Mechanic or Workshop Engineer roles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of vehicle technology systems and compliance standards.
• Comfortable working independently and managing workload.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Flexible with travel.
• General computer literacy and ability to complete technical documentation.
• Experience with electric vehicles, IRTEC qualification or HGV Class 2 licence is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on vehicle chassis and mounted equipment.
• Carry out servicing and maintenance to a high standard.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure compliance with Department Of Transport specifications.
• Use diagnostic software and tools to identify and resolve issues.
• Log all work using PDA software and maintain accurate service records.
• Travel to customer sites across the UK, sometimes at short notice.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
• Communicate clearly with customers and provide excellent service.
• Support health and safety practices and complete risk assessments as required.
