Job summary

Amey is hiring a Field Engineer for our TSIC account in Cumbernauld, Scotland. This on-site, mobile role covers the Central Belt highways network, delivering reactive and planned maintenance on CCTV, VMS, ERTs, and other roadside electronics.

You’ll work 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, across Scotland’s motorway assets and maintain safety and compliance. The ideal candidate holds a national certificate in an electronic/electrical discipline, with vocational electrotechnical or telecom

Qualifications

• National certificate in electronic/electrical discipline.
• Vocational qualifications in electrotechnical or telecommunications fields.
• Experience in field installation or servicing would be advantageous – but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical, control, and communications installations in line with Regulations and Manufacturer recommendations, including urgent or emergency response.
• Completing initial verification and periodic electrical testing and inspection to BS7671, issuing all required certification.
• Updating schematic diagrams and as‑built records.
• Delivering all aspects of highway electrical maintenance, including routine and cyclic works.
• Taking ownership of Health and Safety, ensuring safety of yourself and others while maintaining compliance with legislation.
• Liaising with Amey colleagues, subcontractors, emergency services, police, the public, clients, and customers.
