Job summary

Amey are recruiting a Highways Technology Engineer to support the maintenance and repair of roadside technology assets across the National Highways network. The primary depot is West Cowick Maintenance Compound, Goole, with travel across the Area 12 network as required.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance on equipment such as signs, CCTV, traffic signals and comms gear. Expect a 43.5 hour week, rotating days and nights, plus standby duties.

Qualifications

• Essential electrical or engineering qualification.
• Experience in highways technology or similar engineering environment.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Reactive maintenance on highways technology assets including signs, signals, CCTV, emergency telephones and weather stations.
• Planned maintenance in line with client requirements and standards.
• Diagnose faults and repair equipment.
• Produce reports and records for maintenance and inspections.
• Provide technical advice and support to colleagues, clients and contractors.
• Support project delivery with suppliers, contractors and local authorities.
• Assist with technology upgrades and asset improvement programmes.
• Support emergency response activities when required.
• Maintain health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Mentor junior team members.
