Job summary

Equans is looking for a Mobile Electrical Engineer to join our Birmingham Schools contract on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. The working hours are as follows; Two weeks of Monday-Friday 6am-2pm followed by two weeks of Monday-Friday 10am-6pm.

There is also an on-call rota. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle and benefits package. You will diagnose faults, deliver PPMs, carry out minor electrical installations, and respond to reactive tasks

Qualifications

• 18th Edition and AM2 qualifications are required.
• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation/Maintenance is essential.
• Post-apprenticeship experience in electrical maintenance/building services.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, fault‑find and repair complex electrical systems in line with legislation and procedures.
• Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across electrical building services.
• Carry out minor electrical installations, upgrades and adaptation works.
• Respond to reactive maintenance tasks to minimise disruption and penalties.
• Maintain accurate PPM, reactive and breakdown records with CAFM updates.
• Identify spare parts and provide timescales for remedial works.
• Participate in the on‑call rota and complete required reports.
