Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an Area Relief Officer to safeguard multiple court and tribunal sites within a defined radius of London. The role is mobile, with day shifts, providing access control, incident response and courteous customer service across sites.

You will hold a valid SIA licence, pass DBS/BS7858, have a UK driving licence and be comfortable working across several locations. Full-time hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Must have Right to Work in the UK and be able to pass enhanced DBS and BS7858 security clearance.
• Must hold a valid SIA Licence and have relevant security experience.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Able to work across multiple locations and adapt to changing priorities.
• Knowledge of security procedures and health & safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, welcoming service to all court users while controlling access to buildings.
• Operate security equipment including CCTV, x-ray machines and handheld metal detectors.
• Conduct searches in line with site procedures and respond to alarms and incidents.
• Patrol public and restricted areas and maintain regular communication with control points.
• Record and report all incidents clearly and accurately.
• Facilitate safe movement of people within buildings and uphold high professionalism.
