Job summary

Mount Charles Group, a leading facilities management provider, is seeking a Mobile Cleaning Operative based at Translink sites in Belfast. This role involves cleaning duties across multiple locations, 37.5 hours per week, five days out of seven, with a nighttime shift.

You will be trained on cleaning equipment, handle COSHH guidelines, dispose of sharps safely if needed, and maintain stores. A clean driving license is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals/products.
• Good time management.
• Experience of working independently.
• Basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to understand safety and work instructions and communicate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and to the required standards, including weekly and periodic tasks.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely per COSHH guidelines.
• Familiarise with cleaning equipment and operate only after training.
• Report faulty equipment and tag as faulty.
• Use safety signage as required (e.g., wet floor signs).
• Keep cleaning stores clean and equipment stored safely.
• Safely dispose of sharps if necessary.
• Comply with client and Mount Charles security regulations.

The Role

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Ensure that the safety signage is used appropriate at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and ‘warn’ customers where possible
• Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times
• Safe disposal of sharps such as needles and blades may be necessary
• Comply with all security regulations for cleaning materials, equipment and buildings as laid down by client and Mount Charles

The Person

• Have knowledge of cleaning chemicals/products and have previous cleaning experience
• Good time management skills
• Experience of working on your own and ensuring set tasks are completed.
• Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis.
