Job summary

Newcastle City Council is recruiting a Mobile Chef to support schools across the city. Working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7.00am–2.00pm, term time only, you will lead catering teams of assistants and deliver meals to pupils.

You should hold NVQ Level 2 in Food Processing and Cooking (or equivalent) and have at least 3 years' experience in a busy catering environment. You will develop menus, maintain high standards, and ensure excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Food Processing and Cooking (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a busy catering environment.
• Experience in supervising or leading a team is desirable.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder relations.

Responsibilities

• Lead catering assistants to deliver meals across schools.
• Maintain high standards of meal production and service.
• Develop and introduce new ideas for menus and foodservice.
