Job summary

Wigan Council is seeking a Mobile School Chef to work across the Wigan & Leigh Borough on term-time hours. The role involves 30 hours per week with 38 weeks plus 6 days/year and 14 hours staff engagement, across multiple locations in the borough.

You will lead catering staff, ensure food safety, and manage rotating menus with LK-approved suppliers. Two vacancies exist: one permanent, one temporary until 31 May 2028.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Quality control of all food, H&S, food safety and COSHH.
• Follow a two-week rotating menu and lead catering assistants.
• Order food from LK approved suppliers and rotate stock.
• Train staff and supervise catering assistants.
