Job summary

Vertas is seeking a Mobile School Chef to join our catering team. You will be based across Beeston and surrounding areas, working 30 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 1:00pm, 39.2 weeks per year. This mobile role involves supporting multiple school sites and delivering high quality food and service.

You will lead kitchen operations, supervise catering colleagues, and ensure food safety, hygiene and standards are maintained while travelling between sites as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering, preferably in a supervisory/managerial role.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lead by example and motivate a team.
• Organised, able to manage workloads and work under pressure.
• Willingness to travel across Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas.
• Commitment to high food quality and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals per menu specifications.
• Manage day-to-day kitchen operations across multiple sites.
• Supervise and support catering colleagues.
• Monitor food safety, hygiene and Health and Safety requirements.
• Manage stock levels, orders and minimise waste.
• Maintain accurate records per company procedures.
• Ensure high cleanliness and food quality standards.
• Provide support and cover across the catering operation.
