Job summary

Vertas Group is seeking a Mobile Caretaker to join the Facilities Team in the Buxton area. The role is 18.5 hours per week with split shifts from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, supporting maintenance and cleanliness across sites.

You will carry out routine maintenance, checks on heating and lighting, and uphold health and safety records while contributing to a safe, well‑run environment for staff and visitors. DBS checks and Right to Work verification may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking or maintenance roles.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to attend training and follow health & safety procedures.
• DBS checks and right to work checks may be required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day caretaking and light maintenance tasks.
• Ensure heating, lighting and alarms are functioning properly.
• Record basic checks and maintain Health & Safety records.
• Assist with site cleaning during duties and office hours as needed.
• Support safety training and adhere to safeguarding policies.
