Job summary

Vertas Group is seeking an Assistant Chef to join our Catering Team across Newark, Retford, Mansfield and Worksop. You will work 20 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, 09:00 to 14:00, delivering nutritious meals and maintaining high service standards.

The role requires a positive, flexible attitude, previous catering experience is desirable, and a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Support preparation, cooking and serving of meals.

About the Role:

Working across Newark, Retford, Mansfield and Worksop, you will be working 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 14:00, 39 weeks per year. You'll play a key role in supporting kitchen operations across multiple sites, helping to deliver nutritious, high quality meals whilst maintaining excellent customer service and food safety standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the preparation, cooking and serving of meals
• Assisting with the day to day running of the kitchen
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and health and safety
• Supporting stock control and ordering processes
• Delivering excellent customer service to pupils, staff and visitors
• Assisting with kitchen administration and record keeping
• Supporting multiple sites where cover is required
• Assisting with washing up and general kitchen duties

• Previous catering experience is desirable

Pay Rate:

£12.77 per hour
