Job summary

DCS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Field Maintenance HVAC Engineer to service and repair commercial HVAC systems across multiple retail sites in the Coventry region. The role is mobile, field-based with a focus on service and maintenance, offering stability within a growing FM provider.

You will work independently across sites, manage your daily workload, and contribute to high service standards while enjoying a company vehicle and a structured on-call pattern.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in commercial HVAC / air conditioning.
• Mobile service and maintenance background.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Knowledge of safety and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Service, fault‑finding, and repair for commercial HVAC systems at retail sites.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive callouts.
• Work on split systems, VRF/VRV, and packaged units.
• Maintain and repair equipment including Airedale and DX Cooling.
• Prepare service reports and maintain compliance records.
• Liaise with clients and internal teams; participate in regional on‑call rota.

£41,000 – £44,000 + on‑call + company vehicle

Join a Leading FM Provider Supporting Major Retail Sites

This is a great opportunity for an experienced HVAC Engineer to join a well‑established facilities management business supporting large retail environments across the Coventry region.

With strong contracts in place and continued growth, this role offers a stable workload, structured support, and a good balance of independence and team backing.

You’ll be working in a mobile role, primarily focused on service and repair, with minimal installation work, giving you variety without being pulled into heavy project installs.

The Role:

You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of commercial HVAC systems across multiple retail sites, ensuring systems are running efficiently, safe, and with minimal downtime.

This is a hands‑on, field‑based role where you’ll manage your own day‑to‑day workload while maintaining high service standards across your patch.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, fault‑find, and repair commercial air conditioning systems
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive call‑outs
• Work across split systems, VRF/VRV, and packaged units
• Maintain and repair systems including Airedale and DX Cooling equipment
• Support general building maintenance tasks where required
• Complete service reports, compliance documentation, and records
• Liaise professionally with clients and internal teams
• Participate in the regional on‑call rota

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience within commercial HVAC / air conditioning roles
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience in a mobile service and maintenance position
• Good understanding of compliance and health & safety
• Ability to work independently across multiple sites
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable Experience

• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
• Experience within retail or FM environments
• Manufacturer experience (Airedale, DX Cooling, etc.)
• Multi‑skilled background (electrical, gas, or general maintenance)
