Job summary

DCS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician for a mobile role across the Midlands and West Midlands. Qualifications

• C&G Level 2 Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or NVQ equivalent.
• F-Gas certified.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in refrigeration/air-conditioning servicing.
• Strong fault-finding and root-cause analysis skills.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Good communication and report-writing skills.
• IT literate (Word, Excel, PDA).

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install air-conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation systems and components.
• Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requirements and urgent breakdowns.
• Diagnose faults across Split, Twin, Multi and VRF/VRV systems.
• Repair and replace defective components on AC and refrigeration systems.
• Provide clear verbal and written reports following completed works.
• Complete accurate weekly timesheets.
• Liaise with customers and internal departments to ensure effective service delivery.

We are currently partnering with a specialist engineering and technical services business to recruit an experienced Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician to join their growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced refrigeration and air-conditioning professional looking for a varied mobile position covering the Midlands and West Midlands.

The role will involve a combination of planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown response, fault finding, servicing and installation across a range of air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble and install air-conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation systems and components
• Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance
• Respond to reactive maintenance requirements and urgent breakdowns
• Diagnose faults across Split, Twin, Multi, VRF and VRV systems
• Fault find and maintain small chillers and associated equipment
• Carry out leak testing in accordance with F-Gas regulations
• Repair and replace defective components on AC and refrigeration systems
• Identify refrigeration faults and system malfunctions
• Complete installations of new air-conditioning and small chiller systems
• Respond to customer callouts as part of the weekly rota
• Undertake chargeable out-of-hours PPM and reactive work when required
• Maintain accurate service reports, commissioning sheets and job documentation
• Ensure equipment and surrounding areas meet required standards
• Provide professional customer service and maintain strong client relationships
• Liaise with customers and internal departments to ensure effective service delivery
• Support the selection and procurement of materials, tools and equipment
• Provide clear verbal and written reports following completed works
• Complete accurate weekly timesheets

Key Skills & Experience:

• C&G Level 2 Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent NVQ
• F-Gas certified
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within the refrigeration and air-conditioning servicing industry
• Proven experience carrying out planned and reactive servicing
• Strong knowledge of Split, Twin, Multi and VRF/VRV systems
• Experience with small chillers up to 10kW
• Experience installing new and servicing existing AC and small chiller systems
• Good understanding of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems
• Full, clean UK driving licence
• Strong fault-finding and root-cause analysis skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and report-writing skills
• IT literate, including Word, Excel and PDA systems
• Ability to work to tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of service

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

• IPAF / PASMA
• BTEC Level 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
• 18th Edition BS7671
• CSCS / FLT
• Experience with larger chillers, AHUs, BMS and heat recovery systems
• Electrical and heating systems experience
• Legionella Awareness
