Job summary

Metropolitan Police Service seeks an MMU late supervisor to lead fleet maintenance teams in Rainham, ensuring timely repairs, safety compliance, and high-quality service. You will manage technicians, drive performance, and deliver technical reports for a diverse police vehicle fleet.

The role requires strong leadership, robust knowledge of vehicle maintenance, and the ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain operational readiness.

Qualifications

• Essential knowledge of fleet services and vehicle repair practices.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in vehicle maintenance.
• Ability to coach and lead teams to meet KPIs and SLA targets.
• Strong communication with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage vehicle servicing and repair teams to maintain schedules and safety standards.
• Undertake performance management of service areas and monitor KPI achievement against SLAs.
• Develop and implement training plans for team members and ensure staff development.
• Ensure safe working practices and regulatory compliance in the assigned workstream.
• Deliver technical and process improvements through new tools and methods.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and vehicle maintenance histories.
• Demonstrate resilience and accountability in challenging situations.
• Engage with customers, suppliers and contracts to maintain service quality.
• Support workshop operations and governance across the MMU team.
