Job summary

Metropolitan Police is seeking a Fleet Services Supervisor to lead vehicle servicing teams and ensure maintenance to schedule. The role requires overseeing technicians, driving performance, and maintaining safety compliance across a large fleet in a demanding environment.

You will deliver technical guidance, manage repairs, and engage with suppliers to meet KPIs while supporting continuous improvement and high standards of service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Leading Team – effectively repair a number of fleet vehicles by leading, managing and coaching vehicle servicing and repair teams.
• Performance management – line management responsibility for a set number of technicians; manage KPI achievement against SLAs.
• Individual training / development – ensure that individuals have clear development plans and support attendance at training.
• Safe working – maintain safety standards and compliance within regulatory frameworks.
• Technological solutions - deliver methodical technological solutions to improve service performance.
• Technical Reports - produce detailed technical reports and vehicle maintenance histories.
• Determination and resilience - drive to achieve in all aspects of work and stay accountable.
• Open and flexible approach - build trust, be adaptable and respond to change.
• Customer Engagement – liaise with customers in person and via email/phone, provide progress reports.
• Suppliers / Contracts – monitor external service providers and participate in contract management meetings.
• Workshop Support – support overall running of the MMU team and ensure standards are met.
