Job summary

Supply Desk is working with a supportive SEN school in the Uxbridge area to appoint an MLD Teaching Assistant. This full-time role supports pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties to access learning and stay engaged throughout the school day.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups, adapt resources, and collaborate with teachers and SEN staff. An Enhanced DBS check is required; ASAP start is available.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN, especially MLD.
• Understanding of strategies to support pupils with additional needs.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Commitment to supporting students' academic and personal development.
• Ability to work full-time in the Uxbridge area.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with MLD.
• Support the delivery of tailored lessons and differentiated activities.
• Help pupils develop core skills in literacy, numeracy, and communication.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and social development.
• Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
• Adapt resources to meet individual learning needs.
• Support pupils with SEN, including those with ASD.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
• Contribute to a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
